One of the Boys

Rylee got invited to a birthday party this last Saturday. His name is Quinlan and he goes to her daycare. He is one of her little buddies there and she was so excited when I told her she was going to his party.

So we get to the house on Saturday and we were the 1st to arrive. There was supposed to be 3 other kids that Rylee went to school with that were invited-Kierstan, Braiden and Gage. I didn't know whether they would be coming or not but Kierstan is one of Rylee's best friends so I hoped she would come. People were starting to show up with their kids but it ended up that the only other kid from school at the party was Gage. So Rylee ended up playing with a bunch of boys but she had no problem with that. She can play just as hard as they do. I guess because I am a girl who didn't really have a lot of friends that were boys I was a little worried but she didn't care. I don't even think she noticed that she was the only girl. I hope that she will always be that carefree.

They played on the water toy for a good 1 1/2 hours and then they played with water guns. They had this transformers pinata that took forever for them to break open and Rylee wouldn't back up far enough and almost got hit several times. Then once it did break she comes over and has one box of candy. Being the good mother that I am I told her to go get herself some more (because we all know who really eats the candy). She loved the water toy so much though that when it came time for cake and ice cream she didn't even want some and this girl loves ice cream.
Anyway, she had a blast. She is already planning her birthday party so I guess I should probably start the planning right now because November is right around the corner.

Duck Duck GEESE

Per Rylee's frequent requests (once these kids get an idea in their little heads it doesn't go away!) we went to the river Tuesday night to feed the ducks and geese. She has been asking to go feed the ducks since last week and we were finally able to go. She had a good time though. She isn't afraid of those big geese at all. I am more scared of them than she is-they have this look in their beady little eyes that says give me that bread or I will kill you. I am sure that this will not be the last time that we go to the river to feed the ducks. Hopefully I will live to tell the next tale.

How Could I Forget

I totally forgot to say that I am going to the John Mayer concert with my sister on July 21. It is at the USANA amphitheater and I am so so excited. She called Saturday night and said that he was going to be there. I got online right then and ordered our tickets.

I did just look at our seats though and they could be better. They had 3 different prices for the tickets $59, $49 and $39 then you put in find the best and all they had were $49. I can't see where the $39 tickets would be as we are already in the back of the back of the back. At least I get to go-it will be great!!

What a Beautiful Weekend

Friday night we got Justin's parents to watch Rylee for us while we went to go see a movie. This isn't something we do often so it was kind of nice. We went and saw "The Happening" which I didn't mind at all. I decided that if I don't want to see what the time is and when the movie is going to end I probably enjoyed the movie. I didn't look at the time over and over again so I would say this movie is entertaining-I have definitley seen better though. I was reprimanded though by my sister because I told her the movie was good (by my definitions) and so her and her husband went and saw it Saturday and they both hated it. Oh well-what do you do?

Saturday Justin ran his very 1st 5K race. Here he is before the race-of course I had to put in the picture of both him and Rylee too. Doesn't he look so excited? He didn't feel like he did all that well but as far as I am concerned he did it and that's what matters. I think he enjoyed it though and I can see him doing another one. Practice makes perfect-I am sure he will get better each time. He did learn 1 lesson already-don't drink too much water!
Rylee and I didn't get to see him this time as I had so much to do that day and we went to our weekly Walmart grocery session. I have people make fun of me when I go to Walmart because I spend probably an hour and a half each week just looking and doing my grocery shopping. I went last Friday night w/ my mom and she said that she hadn't been grocery shopping with me for a while and now she remembers why. When we got back from the grocery store we let Rylee run through the sprinklers. She had been asking to do that all week and was so excited. So we turned on the sprinkler and she just kind of stood there in the water. Justin and I kept telling her to run and jump through. You have to know Rylee-she hates getting water in her eyes adn i think that is why she was so hesitant. It wasn't until Justin turned on the automatic lawn sprinklers that the fun began. For some reason she just liked that better. She had a blast! It was just a nice day that we got to spend together and outside!

Sunday was just as nice-a little windy but nice. Justin and I decided that we needed to get Rylee a different water toy since she didn't like the sprinklers all that well. We ended up getting her a slip and slide and also a pool that is a whale and the whales tail is a slide. That one takes a little time so we set up the slip and slide for her.

That was hilarious. She got a running start and when she got to the slide she just kind of laid down and push herself up the slide. I forget that sometimes it sounds easier than it probably is for her to do. She is still a little young for this toy. So she could enjoy it I grabbed her arm and propelled her forward. She loved it! She didn't even mind getting water in her eyes. She would just get up run to her towel and wipe her eyes and run back and wait for me to send her thru again. Luckily it was a little windy that day and she got a little chilly so I only had to do that like 30 times before she got too cold. Hopefully we can get the whale pool set up this week so she can try that out. More on that later.

The Things You Say.....

I figured I should probably write down some things that Rylee says in either the way she says the word or her expressions.

  • Hickup-this is how she says pickup. "Lets take the hickup momma".

  • Bud-her word for bug

  • When she wants her milk warmed up she says "milk feeded up". I love that one.

Fathers Day

It was a very nice Fathers Day weekend. My sister and her family came on Saturday and I am always excited to see them. We went to Smitty's for dinner and then sent the men off to The Hulk movie for early Fathers Day present while we went shopping (our gift to ourselves) and watched the kids. Sunday we went over to my parents house for breakfast adn to give my Dad his gift and then later that day Nicole, Kent, Justin and I took Andrew and Rylee to the park. I think the kids had a lot of fun playing and Kent and Justin had fun playing frisbee. Justin has battlescars from that! :) I just had fun hanging out with my sister. We then had to say an early goodbye as we were going to the Chipps for a BBQ which was a good time too. I always get really sad when I have to part ways with my sister. I just always like having her and Andrew around. Especially at times like these w/ gas prices adn everything you wish that you could all live in the same town so you could be closer. But I am grateful that she really isn't too far away!
Andrew had surgery on his ear today. He had ear plugs several years ago and 1 hadn't come out yet and had developed a painful polyp in his ear. He is such a brave little boy. Yesterday he told us what was going to happen and he didn't even get scared or teary eyed. When I talked to Nicole today everything went great. He didn't even cry and said it didn't hurt. They also didn't find a polyp when they went in there-what a miracle.
Anyway, it was a great weekend and I am grateful to hear Andrew is doing great.

Family Vacation

Last Friday we went on our family vacation to Utah. Not very adventerous but we had a lot of fun. We stayed with my sister and her family. Her son Andrew and Rylee have such a good time together. We are very fortunate that they are so close in age. Anyway, we were going to start our vacation by going to Hogle Zoo on Friday but the weather didn't cooperate with us so we ended up taking the kids to the movie Kung Fu Panda which I thought was hilarious and the kids seemed to like it too.

Then on Saturday we went to the zoo. The day started overcast but luckily ended up sunny-a little chilly so I had to wear my jacket all day but I won't complain too much because I am always cold!! We had a really good time there. We got to see an elephant show where they showed us what the elephants could do-that was kindof cool.

Sunday we went to Lagoon thinking that if we went on Sunday it wouldn't be so busy but maybe because it was such a nice day people were out and about because I thought it was pretty busy. Rylee and Andrew went on a lot of the rides and had a blast. Before we even went on our trip Rylee kept talking about how she was so excited to go to "Goon" and how she wanted to go into the haunted houses. She loves those. Last year when she went she hated lady bug drop but this year she loved it. Andrew who loved it last year cried the whole time we were on the ride. He also didn't want to ride in the haunted houses but last minute he ended up riding w/ me and did great! Justin and I went on a couple of the rides. My sister is kind enough to let us go on some of the funner rides which we appreciate. We really like the ride Wicked even though I make myself sick while we stand in line for 30 minutes and I freak myself out and then after the 2 second ride is over and I want to go again. The last ride we went on right at closing time was the water rapids ride because last year the kids loved it but you get soaked so we waited til the end. We were freezing after that and the kids were so tired. I think it took them maybe 10 minutes before they were asleep.

All in all it was a great fam vaca and I love spending time with Andrew and Nicole. I am always sad when we have to leave each other and can't wait until the next time we get to see each other. Can't wait til next year! :)

I am not quite sure how to get started. I have all these things that I could say but not sure how to put them. How bout this-we started Rylee doing dance lessons 2 weeks ago. She just had her 2nd lesson on Tuesday. She really likes it. She likes to spin around in her leotard and make her little skirt move. She is doing a jazz/ballet/tap class and she got to do a little bit of tap on Tuesday-it is really fun to watch her try to get all the steps the teacher is showing them. She really wants to get back into swim lessons. We had her in swim lessons a couple months ago and that is all I ever hear about "but what about swim lessons" she says. Next month Rylee, next month!

Right now we are trying to have another baby. It has been a year since we have been on clomid and we just started doing the IUI. I just had my 2nd and last one today. They are so expensive. I don't understand why these things have to cost so much! I told Rylee that I was going in to the doctor today and she says "but what about me". It's all about her these days. I told her that she doesn't need to go to the doctor today but mommy is trying to have another baby. She says I want to have a baby in my tummy and a baby brother and a baby sister. No baby in her tummy for a long time!! but hopefully this time around we can get her a brother or sister. But what I need to do is be grateful for what I have now. Rylee is just growing too fast and I let this getting pregnant thing consume me. I need to not let getting pregnant consume me so much and appreciate the blessing that I do have now more.

My sister is the one who got me started on this-I am actually excited to do this. I hope it helps me keep up with Rylee and all the things that she is doing right now.
